@100 Test: Ahead of 100th Test, Australians pick Smith’s best innings so far, know

The Leeds Test match is going to be a special one for Australia’s powerful batsman Steve Smith, who is among the legendary players of the present time. The third Test match of the Ashes series 2023 will be played at Leeds from July 6. This will be Smith’s 100th Test match in his Test career. To make Smith’s match even more special, Cricket Australia has teamed up with some of its players to create a video, asking them all about Smith’s best innings.

All the players have unanimously said that Steve Smith’s innings against England at Edgbaston ground in Ashes Series 2019 is the best innings of Steve Smith.

All of them said that Smith’s innings at Edgbaston was the best. On this ground he was making a comeback to cricket after the ball tampering case. Smith scored a century in both innings in this match.

The reason given by everyone for calling this his best innings is that Smith bounced back from the period he faced. Also, this innings was executed, it was of course memorable and appreciable.

Describing the innings, captains Cummins and Labuschagne said, “It was a very special and emotional moment to come back with such an innings after a 1-year ban from cricket.” Labuschagne also said that he had never heard the crowd boo a player in such a negative manner in his entire career.
