A Day Remembered by All Cricket Lovers: When Master Blaster Sachin Scored ‘Centuries’

Exactly 11 years ago, master blaster Sachin Tendulkar celebrated his 100th century when he hit Shakib Al Hasan for a single run to the straight leg. This record was achieved after a wait of 10 months. He became the first and only player in the world to achieve such a feat.

On 16 March 2012, master blaster Sachin Tendulkar scored a century in the Asia Cup against Bangladesh at Mirpur. This was the fourth match of the Asia Cup 2012 tournament. Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim won the toss and elected India to bat first. Then Sachin, who opened with Gautam Gambhir, scored 114 runs while facing 1477 balls. It included 12 fours and 1 six.

Sachin scored his 99th century in a league match in 2011 World Cup. He then went on a tour of England and Australia. Bhatt also played against the Windies, but his 100th century gave him the upper hand. So Indian cricket fans were waiting for his century for almost 10 months.

Need to know this too!!!

– 2 days after that century i.e. on 18th March 2012, Sachin played his last ODI match with Pakistan team. But no one thought that this would be his last ODI match as Sachin announced his retirement from ODIs on 23 December 2012.

-Among the players currently playing, Virat Kohli has scored 70 centuries in his international career. Many cricket pundits have expressed the opinion that Virat has the ability to break this record.
