The next season of the Indian Premier League i.e. IPL, the world’s biggest professional T20 league, will start from March 31. Known as the most unsuccessful team in the history of the tournament, the Punjab Kings team is expected to win this time. However, a week before the start of the season, there are some happy and some worrying things for the Punjab team.

Punjab Kings is the team that will participate in all seasons of IPL. In these 15 seasons, Punjab have managed to reach the final only once. He had to face defeat in that too. In this new season, Punjab will try to win their first title. For this, the leadership of the team has been given on the shoulders of India’s experienced opener Shikhar Dhawan. Big foreign players with international experience will be seen in the Punjab team this time. However, Jonny Bairstow, who is considered to be the ace of this tournament, will not be available for the tournament.

According to a report by a leading cricket website, the England and Wales Cricket Board has refused to grant Bairstow a no-objection certificate to play in the IPL. Bairstow was injured while playing golf last year. The board says he has just recovered from that injury and needs more rest.

Although Bairstow is not part of the squad, the other two Englishmen in the Punjab squad, Liam Livingstone and Sam Curran, will be seen playing throughout the season. Livingstone has been part of the team since last year. So, Karan has been bought by Punjab for a record Rs 18.50 crore in the IPL auction this time.
