A shock to England cricket. Third consecutive defeat in T20I series against Bangladesh

England’s tour of Bangladesh ended on Tuesday (March 14). Bangladesh won the last match between the two teams by 16 runs and gave England a clean sweep. England will not want to remember this T20 series against Bangladesh. Because England lost badly in all the three matches of the series. Mangalaveer played in the third match in Mirpur, Liton Dar became the man of the match.

England won the toss and decided to bat first. Bangladesh had to bat first after losing the toss. But still Bangladesh batsmen performed well. Opener Litton Das gave the team a good start. Although Rony Talukdar lost his wicket for 24 runs, Najmul Hossain Shanto contributed 47 runs. Captain Shakib Al Hasan remained unbeaten on the pitch till the end with Najmool scoring 4 runs. Chris Jordan and Adil Rashid took one wicket each for England.

In reply, Bangladesh set a target of 159 runs against England to win. David Malan and Phil Salt came in to open the innings for England. David Malan gave the team a good start with a knock of 53 runs. But Phil Salt returned to the tent without scoring a single run. Jos Buttler, who came in to bat at number three, was dismissed for 40 runs. Apart from Buttler and Malan, none of England’s batsmen could reach 20 runs. Taskin Ahmed was the top wicket taker of Bangladesh’s bowling attack with 2 wickets. Mustafizur Rahman, Shakib Al Hasan and Tanveer Islam took one wicket each.

Meanwhile, considering the overall T20 series between the two teams, Bangladesh won the first match by 6 wickets, the second match by 4 wickets and the third match by 16 runs. However, England had won the ODI series in this T20 series before sweeping the Cleves. England won two matches in the ODI series, while Bangladesh won one match.
