‘A true friend in happiness as well as in sorrow…’, Narendra Modi remembered Shane Warne in a meeting in Sydney

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently in Australia. Modi held a meeting in Sydney, Australia on Tuesday (May 23). It was said that Modi’s meeting was for Indians settled in Australia. Modi also spoke on cricket relations between the two countries during the meeting held at the Arena Stadium. Modi also remembered late Shane Warne on this occasion.

Modi said in his meeting, “Our relationship with Australia is not just about supporting during happy times. A good friend is always with you in happiness, but also in times of sadness. Millions of Indians mourned the death of Shane Warne last year along with Australia. It was just like when one of us died.” As such, Warner’s relationship with India has always been in the spotlight as a player first and then as a commentator. Shane Warne remains the highest wicket-taker for Australia in international cricket. He has a total of 1001 international wickets to his name. Overall, Warner remains the second most successful bowler in international cricket. Topping the list is Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan, who has taken 1347 international wickets. Third on the list is England’s legendary fast bowler James Anderson, who has taken 972 wickets. Anderson is considered a contender to break Warne’s record in the coming time.
