Talking about her comeback to the team, Jemima Rodriguez said, “After being out of the team, I went to Prashant Shetty and we made a plan. I had to play two matches in a week and practice after that. Sunday was a holiday for practice. Meanwhile I gave myself a challenge. I was on a flat wicket (a pitch suitable for fast bowling) on ​​a turning track (a pitch suitable for spin bowling). Played matches with Under 14 and Under 19 boys at Azad Maidan, Mumbai. Due to the dew on the pitch in the morning, the ball would swing a lot and as the day progressed, the ball would start to take turns. This practice improved my game.”

Jemima scored 53 runs off 38 balls in the match played against Pakistan on Sunday (February 12). After the match, Jemima said, “I don’t know what to say. I knew that if I stayed on the pitch until the end, we would win. This game was special for me too. For a long time, I did not get runs from my bat. I would like to dedicate this game to my parents. Both of them are in the stadium, this game is for them.”

Meanwhile, considering the overall match between the two teams, India elected to bat first after losing the toss. Pakistan scored 149 for 4 in limited 20 overs. In reply, India achieved this target with the loss of three wickets in 19 overs. The Indian team is scheduled to play their second match of the World Cup against the West Indies on February 15.
