After Prabhasimran Singh, Harpreet also shone! Delhi Capitals out of IPL season, see standings

Punjab Kings won the 59th match of the 16th season of IPL. In this match, Delhi Capitals faced Punjab. Punjab won by 31 runs. The hero of the match was Prabhusimson Singh, who scored a century for Punjab Kings. Along with this, the performance of Punjab’s bowling department was also noteworthy.

Delhi Capitals captain David Warner won the toss and elected to bat first. This decision of Delhi was also right. But Prabhasimran Singh alone did not bother the Delhi bowlers. He scored his first century in 61 balls. He played a total of 65 balls and was dismissed for 103 runs. Sam Karan and Sikandar Raza lost their wickets for 20 and 11 runs respectively. Apart from these three, not a single Punjab batsman could score two runs. Prabhasimran’s century helped Punjab post 167 for 7 in the allotted 20 overs.

Delhi batsmen came into the field to reach the target of 168 runs. Captain David Warner started Delhi’s innings well. But none of the batsmen, including opener Finn Salt, could provide the expected support to Warner. Warner lost his wicket with 54 off 27 balls. Opener Finn Salt scored 21 runs off 17 balls. Apart from these two, not a single Punjab batsman could cross the 20-run mark. Delhi scored 136 for 8 in 20 overs in this match.

After this win, Punjab Kings are at the sixth position in the points table. Punjab have won 12 Pack 6 matches and have a total of 12 points. Punjab have two more matches to play in the league stage and they need to win both matches to reach the playoffs. Delhi Capitals on the other hand are out of the current season. Delhi have won only 4 out of 12 matches and lost 8 matches. (Delhi Capitals are the first team to bow out of IPL 2023.)
