After Sachin, only Virat got ‘such’ performance, Dhoni-Dravid is far behind in the list

The second Test match between India and Australia started on Friday (February 17). The Australian team was bowled out on the first day in the Test match played at the Anun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. India’s top-order batsman Virat Kohli took to the field for bowling on the second day of the match. After taking the field against Australia on Saturday (February 18), Virat recorded a special record in his name.

Australia lost the first match of the Border Gavaskar Test series by an innings and 132 runs. In the second match of the series too, the Indian bowling attack performed well and bowled out Australia’s first innings for 263 runs. Before the end of the first day’s play, India scored 21 runs without losing a single wicket. On the second day of the ongoing Test match in Delhi, Virat Kohli came to the pitch. Virat scored 44 runs off 84 balls for India in the first innings. Meanwhile, this was the 100th time Virat Kohli had stood up to bat against the Australian team.

Virat is the second player to reach the 100 mark in the list of most batting Indians against Australia in all three forms of cricket. Sachin Tendulkar, who is number one in the list, has played a total of 144 innings against Australia. Virat Kohli is second with 100 innings. Third and fourth are MS Dhoni and Rahul Dravid with 96-96 innings each.

Meanwhile, if we consider the overall test match in Delhi, India’s side looked heavy after the first day. Fast bowler Mohammed Shami () took the most wickets for India in the first innings with four wickets. While spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin took three wickets each. On the next day, Australian spinner Nathan Lyon took 5 of 7 wickets in India’s first innings. (Virat Kohli became the second Indian batsman to play 100 innings against Australia)
