Agreed! Rahane makes history by making comeback after 18 months, becomes first Indian to score fifty in WTC Final

After a long absence of 18 months, veteran batsman Ajinkya Rahane made a comeback to the Indian team. The comeback was special for him. India vs Australia in the final of the World Test Championship 2023 being played at London’s K Oval ground. Rahane scored a half century in this match. Interestingly, he completed his record half-century by hitting sixes in this match. He became the first Indian batsman to achieve such a feat.

First Indian to score a half-century in a WTC final
Australian captain Pat Cummins bowled the 46th over of India’s innings. Ajinkya Rahane completes his half-century with a deep six off the last ball of Cummins’ over. He faced 92 balls to complete his half century. He hit 1 six and 6 fours during this run. It was Rahane’s 26th Test half-century. Not only this, he also became the first Indian to score a half-century in a WTC final.

Rahane’s record
Rahane also completed 5000 runs in Test cricket as soon as he crossed the milestone of 69 runs. He became the 13th Indian player to do so in Tests for India. Before him, this record was held by Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sunil Gavaskar, Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman, Virender Sehwag, Virat Kohli, Dilip Vengsarkar, Cheteshwar Pujara, Mohammad Azharuddin, Gundappa Vishwanath and Kapil Dev. These players have crossed the milestone of 5000 runs in Tests.

Rahane’s record too
