“Anything can happen in cricket”, says leading bowler India still in with a chance of victory
The third Test match between India and Australia is being played at the Holkar Stadium in Indore. After winning the first two matches of the series, the Indian team seems to be in trouble in the third Test. Australia need just 76 runs to win the third Test. Although this challenge is very tough in terms of Test cricket, India’s leading fast bowler Umesh Yadav has expressed his optimism of victory.
On the second day, Australia did not allow India to build a big score on the strength of Nathan Lyon’s bowling. India’s second innings ended on just 163 runs. Lion bowled India for eight wickets. Three more days are left for the match to end. However, the result of the match may be decided on the third day. Although Australia face a low-run challenge for victory, India’s leading fast bowler Umesh Yadav is hopeful of victory.
Speaking after the game the next day, he said,
“Anything can happen in cricket. We will try our best. It is not easy to make runs on this pitch. The batsmen of both the teams did not feel comfortable while batting here. The ball is staying down well on this pitch. It will be difficult to come forward and hit here. We will be more and try to bowl.”
The first two matches of the series were also completed within three days. With the new ball getting good spin in the morning session, Australia are likely to have to work hard to overcome this challenge.
