England cricket team’s legendary fast bowler Jofra Archer has once again become a victim of injury. Archer has played very few international matches in recent years due to injury. He is also withdrawing from the upcoming Ashes series for the same reason. It is revealed that England’s leading fast bowler Stuart Broad’s eyes are watering as he learns that Archer is injured again.
Jofra Archer has not been able to play a single Test match for England after 2021. Everyone expected him to represent England in the Ashes series this summer season. However, this may not be possible. Archer’s elbow injury has resurfaced. He was retained by Mumbai Indians for Indian Premier League 2023 for Rs 8 crore. But he has played only five matches in the entire season. Due to injury, Archer has decided to leave the IPL season halfway and return home.
Archer was the biggest challenge for the Australian team in Ashes 2019. This season, Stuart Broad () also played alongside Archer. Broad expressed his feelings about Archer’s injury in a column in a newspaper column. Broad wrote, “I saw the news that Jofra Archer will miss the domestic summer season due to a corner injury. I was about to cry when I saw this news. Now Archer’s next focus is the 50-over World Cup in October. He should be fit and work in white ball cricket before the World Cup.”
Meanwhile, in Ashes 2019, Archer made the Australian batsmen sweat with his fast bowling. He took 22 wickets in the four matches of the series at an average of 20.27. Steve Smith was later hurt by Archer’s delivery in the series. This year’s Ashes series will be played in England and Archer could once again display penetrating bowling here. However, due to injury, this will not be possible. (Jofra Archer’s injury brought tears to his eyes, said Stuart Broad)
