Former England fast bowler Kevin Pietersen has given some valuable advice to Jofra Archer. It has recently been reported that Archer will not be able to play in the upcoming Asia Cup. He will spend the entire summer working on fitness with the medical team. Pietersen was quite upset when Archer was thought to be pulling out of the upcoming Ashes.
Kevin Peterson said in one of his blogs, “Very disappointed with Archer, very disappointed. I think his journey with England cricket may be over. I am also aware that some news of agreements with franchises has come out. This is a really good option for Archer. He should rest for 6 months. Then pick a few leagues to play in and bowl at a slower pace for a few months of the year. This will earn him good money and also boost his career.”
Meanwhile, this legendary fast bowler of England became popular in international cricket in a short period of time. But in the last three-four years, he has been able to play very little cricket. An injury to his left arm has kept Archer out of the cricket field. This time once again he has to withdraw from the upcoming Ashes series due to the same injury. Archer underwent surgery on the injury twice in 2021. But it does not seem to have any benefit.
After a long break this year, he decided to play for IPL franchise Mumbai Indians. But due to injury, he had to leave the season halfway through. The injury has plagued Archer since 2019-20, when he had to pull out of the South Africa tour. Since then he has been in and out of the England team several times.
