As usual, Pujara remained the ‘top scorer’ against Australia, giving India the lead

Cheteshwar Pujara became the highest run-scorer for India in the third Test match against Australia. On the strength of 163 runs in the second innings, the Indian team managed to take a lead of 75 runs. Although other batsmen in the team got out cheaply, Cheteshwar Pujara, however, completed his own half-century. After this innings, Pujara has reached the second position after Sachin Tendulkar in a special list.

Sachin Tendulkar has been the ‘top scorer’ for the Indian team for the most number of times in Test cricket against Australia. Sachin scored more runs in 20 Test matches against Australia than anyone else in the team. Now in this list, Cheteshwar Pujara has overtaken Virat Kohli and won the second position. On Thursday, Pujara became the highest scorer in the 13th Test match for India. Virat Kohli has been able to contribute the most runs in Tests against Australia 12 times and is currently third in the list.

Meanwhile, the match between the two teams started on Wednesday (March 1) at the Holkar Stadium in Indore. This is the third match in the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023 and India have won the first two matches. However, in the third match, victory looks easy for the Australian team. India were bowled out for just 109 runs in the first innings. In reply, Australia scored 197 runs and took a lead of 88 runs. On the second day of the match i.e. Thursday, the Indian team came to bat for the second time and were all out for 163 runs. By the end of the second day’s play, the Indian team was leading by just 75 runs. Cheteshwar Pujara was the only one who could score a half-century for the Indian team in both the innings of this match.
