Indian players performed brilliantly in the Test rankings released on Wednesday (July 05). On the one hand, Rishabh Pant made it to the top 10 players in the Test ranking of batsmen. Also, R Ashwin topped the Test bowlers rankings, while Ravindra Jadeja topped the Test all-rounders rankings.
There is only one Indian in the top 10 of the ICC Test batsmen rankings. That player is wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant. Pant is still sidelined after suffering an injury in an accident last year. As per the latest rankings, Pant is at the tenth position with 758 points. Also, Steve Smith is second with 882 points, while Kane Williamson is first with 883 points.
Ashwin retains top spot in Test bowling rankings
India’s veteran spinner R Ashwin has managed to retain the top spot in the latest Test bowlers rankings. Ashwin currently has 860 points. Also, Australia captain Pat Cummins is second in the bowlers’ rankings with 826 points. Apart from Ashwin, India’s top 10 bowlers are Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja at the 8th and 9th positions respectively.
Jadeja remains at the top of the Test all-rounder rankings
After R Ashwin topped the Test bowling rankings, Ravindra Jadeja also topped the Test all-rounders rankings. Interestingly, Ashwin is also included in the list of all-rounders and is second only to Jadeja. On one hand, Jadeja is on the first position with 434 points, while on the other hand, Ashwin is on the second position with 352 points. Additionally, in the all-rounder ranking, Joe Root has also reached the 7th position with 272 points.
