The latest interview of Indian team’s veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has become a topic of discussion. Ashwin also talks about the discussion with his wife in this interview. IPL 2023 was completed in the month of February-March when the Australian team came to India. Ashwin had given a direct hint to his wife that this series against Australia could be the last for him.

Ravichandran Ashwin () recently gave an interview to Indian Express. There is a lot of talk about this interview in the media. Ashwin also said in this interview, “When I returned home from Bangladesh in December 2022, I told my wife Prithvi that the home series against Australia could be my last. My knee is having problems and thinking of changing action.”

Aswin added that, “The test against Bangladesh was swelling. After this I returned to my 2013-14 action. Later went to NCA in Bangalore to work on this injury. Later started bowling and also got relief from knee pain.” Meanwhile, Ashwin was also Man of the Series in the home series against Australia.

Ashwin made a significant contribution to the Indian team in the World Test Championship 2021-23. However, he still had to sit out of the playing eleven for the WCT final. The captain and team management dropped him from the team citing the pitch. Ashwin himself is also upset with this decision of the team management. Regarding this he said, “It is difficult to answer why such a decision was taken. But I would have liked to have played in the final.”

Meanwhile, the 36-year-old Ashwin is the second most successful bowler in the history of Indian cricket after Anil Kumble. He has played 92 Tests, 113 ODIs and 65 T20 Internationals for India.
