‘Australia will fall heavily on India in the WTC final’, the world-winning captain himself said the reason

Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting has made a big claim before this match to be played at England’s K Oval ground. He has said that the match will bring the two teams closer, but the ground conditions will be more advantageous for Australia than for India.

Speaking at an event in New Delhi, Ricky Ponting, who won 4 ICC trophies, analyzed the WTC Final. He said, “In my opinion, the pitch here is almost the same as the pitch in Australia. So I am giving more advantage to Australia than India. If this match was in India, I would have said it would be very difficult for Australia to win. If this match was in Australia, I would have said that Australia is on top. This final is being played in England. Maybe this will bring the two teams closer together.”

Speaking further, Ponting said that he is very much looking forward to witnessing a match between a brilliant Australian penetrating bowling and India’s top order. Ponting also mentioned the reason behind India’s overseas success. He said, “One thing that India has changed since the late 1990s or early 2000s is India’s capabilities. This team has been able to maintain its ability to compete outside India. Yes, his batting skills have improved. However, it is also a fact that they have produced very good fast bowlers during these 10-15 years, which has given them success overseas.”

India’s second appearance in the WTC final
The World Test Championship Final 2023 will be played from June 7 to 11. It will be the second time for the Indian team to play the WTC final. Earlier, India had entered the WTC finals in 2021 as well. However, India had to bear the shock of defeat at the hands of New Zealand.
