Awesome! Jimmy and Broad’s success in world cricket, broke the World Record of Warne-McGrath pair

The first Test match between New Zealand and England is being played at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui. In this match England team is seen dominating New Zealand. Interestingly, the batting New Zealand batsmen have been literally made to sweat by England’s legendary bowlers. Those bowlers are none other than Stuart Broad and James Anderson. Due to the performance of these two, a world record has been recorded in their name.

Stuart Broad and James Anderson took 5 and 3 wickets respectively in both the innings till the 23rd over of New Zealand’s second innings. With this he created a special record. Stuart Broad and James Anderson became the second bowling pair in the history of Test cricket to cross the 1000-wicket mark.

McGraw-Warne’s record broken
Not only this, it has broken the record of Glenn McGrath and late great spinner Shane Warne. McGrath and Warne together took a total of 1001 Test wickets. So far, Broad and Anderson have taken 1005 wickets together while playing 133 Test matches.

Till the 23rd over of New Zealand’s second innings, Broad has taken 480 and Anderson 525 wickets in Tests together. Additionally, talking about individual Test wickets, Anderson has taken 678 wickets and Broad has taken 571 wickets.

In this list Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan and Chaminda Vas took a total of 895 wickets in Tests. Also, West Indies legend Kurtley Ambrose and Courtney Walsh took 792 wickets together. In addition, former Pakistan legends Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis had taken a total of 559 wickets together.
