BCCI showed strength! Finally ICC had to change ‘that’ decision
The third Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy was played between India and Australia at Indore. The match ended on only the third day in the first session. The Australian team defeated the host Indian team in this match. Many criticized the pitch in this match. After that, the International Cricket Council (ICC) gave a comment that the pitch was bad. The appeal made by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) against it has now been accepted by the ICC, and this comment has been changed.
Having won the first two matches of the series one-sidedly, the Indian team was bowled out for just 109 runs in the first innings. Australia then took a lead of 88 runs in the first innings on the strength of Usman Khawaja’s batting. The Indian team scored only 163 runs in the second innings as well. So Australia team got a challenge of 76 runs for victory. Overcoming this challenge, Australia won the match by 78 runs in 18.5 overs losing just one wicket on the third day. With this, the series was also tied at 2-1.
After the match, the ICC commented on the pitch used for the match. The ball was getting more spin on this pitch from day one. Also, the clay on the pitch was also seen coming off in the very first over. That’s why the ICC gave this pitch a bad comment. BCCI immediately appealed against it.
🚨 The pitch rating for Indore’s Holkar Stadium, which was initially rated “poor”, has been changed.

The BCCI, in its submission, said the Indore pitch was not bad. The first two matches of the series also played out in a similar fashion. Not only this, but this time the winning team was also different. After this argument, the ICC dropped the bad comment and gave a below average comment. So it was decided to reduce the pitch from three demerit points to only one demerit point.
