BCCI will reach the villages! New scheme designed to test young players

The apex council meeting of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was held recently. Many important issues were discussed in this meeting and some important decisions were also taken. BCCI has taken a big decision in this, BCCI is going to start a new talent hunt program for young bowlers. Mainly fast bowlers will be selected in this.

Currently, there are many fast bowlers in the bench strength of the Indian cricket team. However, after one or two series, these bowlers fail to make their impact or get injured. Therefore, this scheme will be used especially considering future bowlers in Test cricket. This talent hunt program will be organized in various cities across the country.

The selected bowlers will be trained at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore. The age limit of these bowlers will be between 18-23. A BCCI official said,

“The plan will be implemented keeping in mind the future in Test cricket. We will focus on producing not only good bowlers but also fit fast bowlers. It has started and some of the key players from the women’s team currently touring Bangladesh have been left out of the squad due to fitness issues.”

Many decisions in domestic cricket were also discussed in this meeting. There was also a discussion on whether to use the impact player rule in the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Also, the issue of post-retirement pension of senior players in domestic cricket was also raised.
