Former Indian team selector Sunil Joshi has named one player who can represent India in the upcoming T20I series in Rishabh Pant’s absence. Sunil Joshi is currently the spin bowling coach of IPL franchise Punjab Kings. According to Joshi, Jitesh Sharma is also a contender along with Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson in Pant’s absence. Joshi also said that Jitesh can be included in the Indian team at any moment.

Jitesh Sharma got a chance in the last two T20I series of the Indian team. However, he could not make a place in the playing eleven. In the last 24 months, Punjab Kings have had an incredible run in the Indian Premier League. On the strength of this performance, he can also get a place in the Indian team in the coming years. Sunil Joshi while talking to a news agency expressed confidence about Jitesh Sharma. Joshi said, “Jitesh Sharma is an amazing player. He was selected in the Indian team over Sanju Samson. This proves its quality. His performances in domestic cricket and IPL in the last 18 months put him ahead of other wicketkeepers.”

Rishabh Pant was a victim of a car accident in December last year. Pant has been seriously injured in this accident and will not be able to play for the team for a long time.
