T20 Vitality Blast i.e. T20 Blast tournament is currently going on in England. Pakistan’s star fast bowler Shaheen Afridi is seen on fire with the bowling in this tournament. On Friday (June 30) playing for Nottinghamshire, he did something that no bowler in the world had done before him. So he wrote his name in golden letters in history. His team lost the match, but he bagged the man of the match award for his brilliant performance. Perhaps the Pakistan team was also happy with Shaheen’s performance before the Asia Cup.

Nottinghamshire vs Warwickshire match played at Trent Bridge Stadium. In this match Warwickshire won the toss and decided to bowl. This time the Nottinghamshire team scored 168 runs losing all wickets in the stipulated 20 overs while batting first. So he was dismissed. Shaheen then dismissed Chris Benjamin on the second ball. Like Davies, Benjamin was also dismissed. The bowler dismissed him in a triple.

Shaheen missed out on a hat-trick this time, but created history by picking up two more wickets in the first over. He had Dan Mooseley caught off the fifth ball. Also, Ed Barnard was dismissed for a wicket off the last ball. Thus Shaheen Afridi took a total of 4 wickets in 6 balls.

First bowler to take four wickets in first over
Shaheen Afridi made his name in cricket history with this performance. Because, this was the first time in the history of T20 matches spanning more than two decades that any bowler took four wickets in the first over of the match. He took 4 wickets for 29 runs while bowling 4 overs in this match. However, Shaheen’s efforts were in vain. Because, he could not make his team win the match. The hosts failed to defend 169 runs. Opener Roberts Yates’ 65 off 46 balls saw Warwickshire complete the challenge with the loss of 8 wickets in 19.1 overs.
