Bhuvi made history by breaking the waist of Gujarat! Not once, but for the second time in the IPL

62nd Match of Indian Premier League 2023 Gujarat Titans Vs. Sunrisers Hyderabad played on Monday (May 15). Hyderabad fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled tremendously in this match at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. He recorded a special record in his name by taking maximum 5 wickets. Bhuvneshwar has become the first Hyderabad player to achieve such a record.

In this match, Sunrisers Hyderabad team captain Aiden Markram won the toss and decided to bowl. This time, Gujarat Titans team scored 188 runs losing 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs while batting first. Bhuvneshwar Kumar alone took 5 wickets out of 9 wickets of Gujarat. So a special record was recorded in his name. Bhuvneshwar became the third player in IPL history and the first from Hyderabad to achieve such a feat.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar became the third player to take the most wickets in the IPL. Before him, this record was held by Jaydev Unadkat and James Faulkner. Unadkat has taken five wickets twice and Faulkner twice in IPL.

In this match, Bhuvneshwar, while bowling the first over, caught Gujarat opener Wriddhiman Saha on the third ball and ran into the tent. Bhuvneshwar then had skipper Hardik Pandya caught by Rahul Tripathi on the 16th ball of the innings and the second ball of his second over. He then took the next 3 wickets in his 20th over of the innings and his fourth over. Shubman Gill (101 off 58 balls), who scored a century, was caught by Abdul Samad on the very first ball. Then on the second ball, Rashid Khan, who was in blistering form, was caught for a wicket by Heinrich Klaasen. Got a wicket on the third ball too, but it was a hat-trick for the team. This time Noor Ahmed was run out. Then the debutant Dasun Shanaka scored 1 run on the fourth ball. However, Mohammad Shami, who was batting on the fifth ball, was also caught and sent to the tent for zero. Also, Mohit Sharma scored a run off the last ball.

Thus Bhuvneshwar spent 2 runs in the last over and took 3 wickets. He bowled a total of 4 overs in this match, spending 30 runs and taking the highest number of 5 wickets. (Most 5fers in IPL History bhuvneshwar kumar also in the list)
