BIG BREAKING: Maharashtra youth cricketer arrested in Baramati, action taken in this case
The Maharashtra Premier League is currently the talk of the town in Maharashtra cricket circles. Meanwhile, a shocking news is coming out from Maharashtra Cricket. A young cricketer was arrested for allegedly concealing his age in an age group competition. Now, after completing three days of police custody, he has also been sentenced to 14 days of judicial custody.
The incident took place on Saturday (June 4). Amol Kolpe, a young cricketer from Malegaon, was arrested by the Baramati Police. He has been accused of concealing his age in the under-19 invitational cricket tournament organized by the MCA in January.
In the documents submitted by Amol for the competition, his date of birth was stated as 28 September 2007. However, after some of his old documents came to light, his date of birth was found to be 15 February 1999.
Action was taken against Amol following a complaint filed by Karbhari Cricket Club president Nana Satav. Also, a case has been registered against three others for cheating and submitting false documents. All of them can apply for bail in the Sessions Court
