Big news: ‘Ajinkya’ Rahane again becomes Team India’s vice-captain, gets responsibility as soon as he returns after a year and a half

The Indian cricket team will go on a tour of West Indies in the month of July. India’s Test ODI squad for this tour was announced on Friday (June 23). Rohit Sharma has retained the responsibility as the captain of the Test team. However, veteran Ajinkya Rahane, who has returned from the World Test Championship, has once again been given the vice-captaincy of the team.

Rahane was seen doing brilliantly in the IPL this year. He contributed while playing for the Chennai Super Kings team. He also got an opportunity to play in the final of the World Test Championship. He scored 89 runs in the first innings and 46 runs in the second innings while returning to the Indian team after a year and a half. After that, coach Rahul Dravid said that he can once again become a regular member of the Indian Test team.

Rahane has also been the captain of the Indian team in the past. Under his leadership, the Indian team has yet to lose a single Test match. He was the captain of the Indian team that went to Australia and won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in 2020-2021.
