Big news! Ex-IPL player arrested by police, defrauded businessman of 12 lakhs

Exciting news is coming from the world of cricket. Andhra Pradesh’s former Ranji cricketer Nagaraju Budumuru is in trouble. He has been arrested by cyber police. He was raking in lakhs by contacting the directors of big companies and asking for sponsorship for cricketers. In this case, the police have taken his ‘wicket’.

Nagaraju Budumuru is 28 years old and has done many wrong things. He duped a businessman in Mumbai of Rs 12 lakh by pretending to be talking to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy. Not only this, but it came to light that he had cheated 60 companies to the tune of Rs 3 crore.

Notably, Budumuru represented the Andhra Pradesh team in the 2014 and 2016 Ranji Trophy seasons. Interestingly, he was also part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad team in the IPL. Additionally, he also represented the India B team between 2016 and 2018. Police said he cheated in 2018 to live a life of luxury after his cricket career. The police also said that he is used to such work.

Budumuri was introducing himself to the big commercial companies of the city as the PA of the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. He had also told representatives of several companies that he was seeking sponsorship for cricketer Ricky Bhui. He also sent the documents of Andhra Pradesh Cricket Association to convince the company. In this case, the company had sent this amount due to the phone call from the Chief Minister’s office. Further, with no response from the cricket board, it was realized that he had been cheated. After that, the company officials filed a complaint with the cyber police.
