Speaking at an ICC event about the historic match between India and Australia, Ponting said, “I think it will be a contest between the Indian top order and the pace attack. Aman always talks about the competition between Indian spinners and Australian batsmen. But given the conditions at the Oval Stadium, these things won’t matter much.”

“After I have played here, the pitch is initially good for batting. As the game progresses, this is where the spinners start getting help,” Ponting added. Meanwhile, last time the Indian team had to accept defeat against New Zealand in the final match of the WTC. But this time the Indian team will try their best to lift the mace of honour.
