Big news is coming out from international cricket. Not one, but two-time T20 World Cup winning captain Darren Sammy has been given the new responsibility. Former captain Darren Sammy has become the new head coach of West Indies. Apart from him, former Jamaican cricketer Andre Kohli has also been entrusted with the responsibility of the head coach. Interestingly, both of them will be coaching the West Indies team in different cricket formats. This information has been given from the official social media account of West Indies.

Darren Sammy and Andre Coley have been appointed as head coaches for the West Indies men’s senior team. The appointments have been made following a transparent interview process following the much-anticipated Cricket West Indies Board of Directors meeting on Thursday (May 11).

While Andre Kohli will be the head coach of the West Indies A team and the senior men’s Test team, Sammy will be seen coaching the senior team in the limited overs, ODI and T20 International cricket formats.

Darren Sammy will take over as the new head coach when the team faces the United Arab Emirates in June. Also, Andre Kohli will begin his duties as the Test head coach against the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team in a two-Test match in the Caribbean Islands in July.

To know about Darren Sammy’s international career, he has played 38 Tests, 126 ODIs and 68 T20 Internationals for the West Indies so far.
