Interestingly, Balberney, the limited-overs captain, has resigned a week after failing to qualify for the 2023 ODI World Cup. This information has been given by the Ireland Cricket Board on social media. Balburni’s decision has created excitement in the cricket world.

What did Balbarni say?
Andrew Balbirnie said in a Cricket Ireland Board press release on Tuesday (04 July), “After much consideration I have decided to step down as captain of the ODI and T20 teams. It has been an honor to lead this team over the past few years. I am grateful for the support on and off the field from the many players, coaches, Cricket Ireland and the Ireland team supporters.”

Paul Stirling captain in charge
Balbarni continued, “I think it’s the right time for me, but more importantly for the team. I will continue to give my best for this team and will work hard to contribute.” The board has also said that Paul Stirling will take charge of the captaincy due to Balburni leaving the captaincy.
