After this, New Zealand scored 483 runs in the second innings, following on by 226 runs. England thus faced a challenge of 257 runs to win. However, England lost all the wickets and managed to score only 256 runs. Thus New Zealand won by 1 run. (New Zealand won by 1 run against England in 2nd Test)
