Breaking! The next WTC cycle has been announced, Team India will face ‘these’ six teams
Currently, the final match of the World Test Championship is being played between India and Australia. All eyes are on who will lift the title of the 2021-2023 cycle. Meanwhile, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the series of the World Test Championship for the 2023-2025 cycle.
The ICC announced the series during the ongoing finals. A total of nine teams will participate in this cycle. Each team will get a chance to play six series. They will have to play three series at home and three series at the opposing team’s ground. The final match of the tournament will be played at Lord’s ground in June 2025. The top two ranked teams throughout the cycle will get a chance to play in the finals.
Talking about the Indian team, the Indian team has entered the finals of the first two cycles. The new cycle will begin with a two-match Test series against the West Indies in August. This series will be held in West Indies. In addition, the Indian team will play its series in Australia and South Africa. Indian team’s home series will be played against England, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
It is predicted that there will be some drastic changes in the Indian team in the new cycle. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfraz Khan, who have performed brilliantly in domestic cricket, are expected to get a chance. Also, Ishan Kishan can now become a regular part of the Test team until Rishabh Pant is fully fit.
