Brian Lara came in to rescue the crumbling Windies, a huge responsibility in the series against India

West Indies have been eliminated from the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Now West Indies have to play two hands against India at home. The Indian team is going to tour the West Indies. The tour will begin with a 2-match Test series between West Indies and India from July 12. The Indian team will also play a series of 3 ODIs and 5 T20 matches in this tour apart from Tests. Former batsman Brian Lara has come into the running for the West Indies after a crushing defeat in the World Cup qualifiers.

Brian Lara has joined the team as Performance Mentor. If we talk about the last few days, the West Indies team has not performed well. He performed very embarrassingly. Interestingly, two-time champions West Indies will not be part of the ODI World Cup for the first time in 48 years.

Lara will guide West Indies batsmen
Brian Lara is considered among the legendary batsmen of the 90s. He has played 131 Tests and 299 ODIs for West Indies between 1990 and 2007. He has scored 11953 runs at an average of 52.88 in Tests. His best score remains an unbeaten 400 in Tests. He has also scored 34 centuries and 48 fifties. Additionally, he has scored 10405 runs in ODIs at an average of 40.48. This includes 19 centuries and 63 fifties.

Thus Lara’s addition to the current West Indies squad will surely provide a huge boost. Lara will try to revive the West Indies team which is now in ruins.

West Indies vs India Team Schedule
The first Test match between West Indies vs India will be played from July 12. Also, the second Test match will start from July 20. After the Test series, both teams will play the ODI series from July 27. The second ODI will be played on July 29 and the third ODI on August 1.

After the Test and ODI series, both teams will play the T20 series. The first T20 match between West Indies and India will be played on 3 August, the second match on 6 August, the third match on 8 August, the fourth match on 12 August and the fifth and final T20 match of the tour on 13 August.
