There are many players around the world who rule T20 cricket with their explosive batting. The first name that comes in this is that of Indian team’s star batsman Suryakumar Yadav. Surya is currently the top ranked batsman in the ICC T20 rankings. Surya is adept at getting the ball across the boundary with his shots to every corner of the ground. AB De Villiers praised Suryakumar Yadav while talking to Jio Cinemas. “It’s unbelievable,” he said. I think he is hitting shots that I have never hit. I love watching him bat. When he’s in rhythm, it’s good to watch him play.”

The South African legend believes, “Soorya still has a long way to go in his cricketing journey and there is still a lot of potential. He will become a better player in the future.” He also said that he sees many similarities between Surya and himself. Speaking further, de Villiers said, “Suryakumar has the ability to change gears easily while batting. This ability puts him in the category of great batsmen. His approach at the crease is the reason behind his success.”

“When he is full of confidence, he starts slowly and takes his innings very far. He plays the ball late. Once he recognizes the bowler as a batsman, the faster any bowler bowls, the faster you manage to hit the ball at the right time. The sky is the limit,” said de Villiers.

He further added, “The biggest challenge for Surya will be to maintain consistency in all cricketing forms of the game. He has to understand his game for Test, ODI and T20 cricket, how it works for him.”

So far Suryakumar Yadav has played 1 Test match, 23 ODI matches and 48 T20 matches. Surya scored only 8 runs in the only Test. He has 433 runs at an average of 24.05 in ODIs and 1675 runs at an average of 46.52 in T20Is. Surya has scored 3 centuries and 13 fifties in international cricket.
