On Thursday (June 15), the Asian Cricket Council announced the Asia Cup dates. As per the scheduled schedule, this Asia Cup was to be held in Pakistan. However, due to opposition from other countries, the tournament will now be held jointly between Sri Lanka and Pakistan. The Indian team is considered as the title contender for this Asia Cup. At the same time, Shreyas Iyer and Jasprit Bumrah can return to the Indian team once again for this tournament.

The Indian team will be led by Rohit Sharma for the Asia Cup. The place of many key players is going to be fixed in this team. In this, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya will make the batting strong along with Rohit. So, in the bowling department, all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja, Akshar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammad Shami and Mohammad Siraj have their place.

Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer and Jasprit Bumrah, who have been out of the Indian team for a long time, are likely to make a comeback in the Asia Cup. Bumrah has not played any cricket match since September last year. So, this year, after the series against Australia in the month of March, he did not come to the field. Therefore, if these two players come to the team, the strength of the Indian team will increase.

This time the Asia Cup will be played from 31st August to 17th September. A total of 13 matches will be played in the tournament, 9 matches will be played in Sri Lanka and four matches will be played in Pakistan. Along with India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Nepal will participate in this tournament.
