Ravindra Jadeja looked composed on day three, but lost his wicket in the opening overs on day four. In this background, the former legend of the Indian team, Sunil Gavaskar, gave good advice to Jadeja.

This is the fourth and final match of the Border Gavaskar Test Series (BGT) and the win is very important for the Indian team. Early on the fourth day of the match, Ravindra Jadeja lost his wicket to youngster Todd Murphy. Murphy was bowling with his strategy. In the eighth over of the innings, Jadeja continued to lose wickets to one ball from Murphy. But then on the very next ball, he played a mistimed shot towards mid-on and was caught by Usman Khawaja. Sunil Gavaskar was furious with the manner in which Jadeja was dismissed.

After Jadeja was dismissed after playing a wrong shot, Gavaskar said, “What was the need to play such a shot? Virat Kohli did not like this shot. Dressing Rune is not happy either. Let me tell you, even coach Rahul Dravid didn’t like this shot. Jadeja played this innings very responsibly, then I don’t understand how to play such a shot. It is beyond my comprehension.”

Meanwhile, considering the total of these matches between the two teams, Australia scored 480 runs while batting first. In reply, the Indian team scored 571 runs in the first innings. Virat Kohli contributed 186 runs while Shubman Gill contributed 128 runs for India. Earlier, Usman Khawaja scored 180 and Cameron Green scored 114 for Australia. Ravichandran Ashwin was the best in the bowling department. Ashwin conceded 91 runs in 47.2 overs in the first innings and took the most 6 wickets. Australia scored 3 runs unbeaten till the end of the fourth day’s play.
