Controversy ignited due to Virat’s wicket! Fans are upset with the decision of the umpires
The manner in which former Indian captain and veteran bowler Virat Kohli was dismissed on Saturday (February 18) created quite a controversy. Matthew Kuhneman, playing his Test debut for Australia, bowled Virat in the first innings. After the umpire’s decision, Virat took a review, but the third umpire also dismissed him.
In the first innings of the second Test match between India and Australia (IND Vs AUS Test Series), Virat Kohli played 84 balls and scored 44 runs. The Australian team was bundled out for 263 runs in the first innings in this match which started on Friday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. In reply, India’s opening pair were also dismissed cheaply. Virat, who came to bat at number four, seemed to be set on the pitch when Matthew Kuhnemann caught him on the leg. Virat lost this wicket when India’s score was 135. After the dismissal, Virat was seen in the dressing room looking upset while watching his wicket review.

Kuhneman got this big catch in the 50th over of the first innings. The third ball of this over hit Virat’s bat and pad. The umpire declared him out. But Virat took the review. Even in the review, it was not clear whether he was out or not. But in the end he had to lose his wicket due to the umpire’s call. Before Virat’s wicket, Indian team opener and captain Rohit Sharma came on the pitch to start the innings. Rohit lost his wicket for 32 runs off 69 balls. The team’s second opener KL Rahul was dismissed for 17 off 41 balls.
Fast bowler Mohammad Shami took the most four wickets for India in the first innings of this test match which is going on in Delhi. But the pitch was once again seen to favor the spinners just like in the Nagpur Test. Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin took three wickets each. In reply, Australian spinner Nathan Lyon also completed a five-wicket haul on the second day of the match. Five of India’s first seven wickets were taken by the Lions.
