‘Cricket culture will increase in Pune due to MPL and ODI World Cup’, asserts Sharad Pawar

Pune, June 29, 2023 : Five matches of the upcoming ODI World Cup will be held at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. This is a matter of pride for the people of Pune. MP Sharad Pawar asserted that this will definitely increase the cricket culture in Pune.

He was speaking at the conclusion of the Shriram Capital Maharashtra Premier League (MPL) tournament organized by the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA). Industry Minister Uday Samant, MCA President Rohit Pawar, Vice President Kiran Samant, Secretary Shubendra Bhandarkar, Joint Secretary Santosh Bobde, Treasurer Sanjay Bajaj and MPL President Sachin Mulye were present on this occasion.

Apart from this, other MCA office bearers Suhas Patwardhan, Sunil Mutha, Vinayak Dravid, Raju Kane, Ajinkya Joshi, Rajvardhan Kadambande, Sushil Shewale, Ranjit Khirid, Kalpana Tapikar were present. Pawar said, Maharashtra Premier League has been organized on behalf of MCA. He expressed the hope that many good players will get to Maharashtra in future due to this league. Uday Samant also expressed his thoughts on this occasion.

On this occasion, MCA President Rohit Pawar thanked BCCI Secretary Jai Shah for hosting five matches of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in Pune to the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA). MPL also thanked the fans for attending all the matches in large numbers. Also, Rohit Pawar thanked the groundsman and all the staff on the ground for keeping the ground in a suitable condition for the tournament keeping in mind the possibility of rain. On this occasion Chenda Melam Vadan, characteristic of Kerala culture, drumming of Nadabramh Dhol Trust, Abhang Ripost performed.
