Australian cricket team captain Pat Cummins’ mother Maria passed away on March 9. Due to his mother’s ill health, Cummins left the India tour halfway and returned home. After spending her last few days with her, Cummins has now posted an Instagram post in memory of her mother.

Cummins shared seven photos in an Instagram post on Saturday (March 19). In this, Cummins is seen with his mother. Interestingly, all these pictures are from his childhood to his marriage. He wrote while captioning this photo. ‘Mom I love you so much. You will always be in my heart.’

Pat Cummins’ mother Maria had been battling breast cancer for a long time. But she finally died before dawn on Friday (10th March). Cummins returned home after the second match of Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023 because of his mother’s health condition. Cummins initially withdrew from the third Test as his mother’s health was not improving. After that, he could not be present for the fourth Test as well. Australia’s players paid tribute to his mother by blackening Danda in the fourth Test. After this, Cummins also decided to withdraw from the three-match ODI series and stay with his family.

The India tour did not go well for Cummins. Even as a bowler, he managed to get only three wickets in two matches. So, the team had to lose both the Test matches under his leadership. Steve Smith, who then took over the leadership, led the team to a win. Also, the fourth match was also managed to be a draw.
