After four consecutive defeats, Kolkata Knight Riders scored a resounding victory in the 36th match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Kolkata beat Bangalore by 21 runs. It was Kolkata’s third win of the season. The batsmen and bowlers played the lion’s share in helping Kolkata win after four matches. Varun Chakraborty was the hero of the match. He was honored with the man of the match award. However, Varun Chakraborty dedicated the Man of the Match Award to his wife and son.

Varun Chakravarthy bowled brilliantly for the Kolkata Knight Riders team. This time he spent 27 runs while bowling 4 overs and took 3 wickets. He pushed big players like Glenn Maxwell, Mahipal Lomror and Dinesh Karthik into the tent. So he became the hero of victory. After receiving the man of the match award, he dedicated it to his newborn son Aathman and wife Neha Khedekar. His decision has been widely discussed.

After winning the award, Varun said, “Cricket is like that. 49 runs were scored against me in the previous match and today I got this award. My target is on my accuracy. Not on diversifying. I am working on it a lot. I would like to thank AC Pratiban and Abhishek Nayak. I would like to dedicate this award to my newborn son and wife. Now I will meet him only after the IPL.”

Varun Chakraborty’s wedding
Varun Chakraborty got married to girlfriend Neha Khedekar on December 11, 2020. He became a father a few months ago. He named his son Atman. He also shared a cute picture with his son before the IPL.

Kolkata broke the losing streak
In the 36th match of IPL 2023 played in Bangalore, the Kolkata Knight Riders team scored 200 runs losing 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs while batting first.
