Delhi Capitals ready for IPL 2023, ‘Ha’ player replaces Pant as captain

The upcoming season of Indian Premier League is just a few days away. But the decision of the Delhi Capitals captain is yet to be made. Regular captain Rishabh Pant has been ruled out of the upcoming IPL season after suffering a serious injury in an accident. Fans have been wondering for a long time now who will replace Pant in Delhi as captain. Similarly, on Thursday (March 16) morning, Australian legend David Warner was entrusted with the captaincy of Delhi.

David Warner has a good experience as a captain in IPL. Under his leadership, Sunrisers Hyderabad team became the winner of IPL 2016 (IPL 2016). However, Warner was later overlooked by the Hyderabad franchise and the opening batsman decided to leave the team. Warner, who led Hyderabad to the title, has been part of the Delhi team before. In this way, this year, fans are eager to see Warner lead the Delhi Capitals.

Warner is the joint fifth most successful captain in IPL history in terms of most matches won. He has led in 69 IPL matches so far and won 35 of them. The team has lost 32 matches under his leadership. Warner has been a successful captain, but his individual performances have also been impressive. It will be interesting to see how he will fulfill the responsibility of helping Delhi Capitals win their first IPL trophy. Indian all-rounder Axar Patel will be the vice-captain of Delhi Capitals in the upcoming IPL season.

The IPL 2023 season will begin on March 31. The first match of the tournament will be played between Gatwicke’s Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings. The third match of the season will be played between Delhi and Lucknow Super Giants led by David Warner on April 1.
