In this match Chennai captain MS Dhoni won the toss and decided to bat first. Although the match was being played at Delhi’s home ground, all the fans were seen at the ground to support Chennai. Meanwhile, as the Chennai team reached the ground, the fans literally surrounded the team bus.
Dhoni, the greatest captain of the Indian cricket team of all time, is reportedly playing his last season. Although he did not announce it, he hinted at it. Hence, whenever he took the field this season, the fans gave him strong support. All the matches in Chennai were attended by huge crowds of fans. Also on other grounds people were coming to the stadium for Dhoni.

As the Chennai team left for the stadium ahead of the match in Delhi, fans from the hotel to the ground were seen lining the streets to watch Dhoni. The team bus of the Chennai team was seen standing on the road as the fans thronged. This video is going viral on social media.
This match is very important for Chennai team. A win in this match will secure them second place in the points table. This will give them a double chance to reach the finals. However, if they lose, they will have to pray that one of the teams from RCB, Lucknow and Mumbai will lose. If Chennai qualify for the play-offs, they will get another chance to play a match at their home ground.
