Demand to ban Chennai Super Kings again! Riots in Tamil Nadu Assembly Read Full Episode
Two weeks have passed since the start of IPL 2023. Meanwhile, many exciting matches were seen in the tournament. Four-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings also bounced back from their first defeat to win two in a row. At the same time, now a big news is coming out about the Chennai team. Banning the Chennai team from the IPL was directly demanded in the Tamil Nadu Assembly.
During the discussion of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, PMK MLA from Dharmapuri Venkatesan shocked everyone by making such a demand. He said,
“This union names Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu. However, players from the state are not given a chance in this team. They are getting a large amount of revenue from the state, but what is the benefit to the youth players of the state?”
Even after coming out of Vidhan Bhavan, Venkatesan reacted to the matter. He said, “It is unfortunate that a team is using the name of our state capital and there is no player from the state in that team. I raised this issue in the assembly but did not get the expected response. I hope the Chief Minister and the Sports Minister will definitely think about it. We have to encourage our players.”
At the same time, AIADMK MLAs alleged that they were not being given passes for the match in Chennai. He said that while 400 was given to the state government by the franchisee, not a single pass was made available to the MLAs of his party. Leader of Opposition Velumani also requested the Sports Minister to do anything to give us the match passes.
