The final match of the four-match Test series between India and Australia came to an end on Monday (March 13). The match was a draw. The Indian team led by Rohit Sharma bagged the series 2-1. Thus India created history by winning the prestigious Border-Gavaskar Trophy for the fourth time. India won the first two matches of this series. Then Australia won the third match. However, there was no result in the fourth test, thus the match remained a draw on the fifth day. After naming the series, Rohit sang the praises of the entire players. Indian team captain Rohit Sharma looked very happy after winning the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He said after the win, “It was a great series. We had a lot of fun right from the start. Along with our players, fans also thoroughly enjoyed it. It was an important series. There were many challenges before us, where we stood bravely. We wanted to start this series with a win and we did.”

Rohit Sharma praised Virat
Rohit also praised Virat Kohli’s storming innings. He said, “I am very happy with the way Virat batted. We all know what kind of player he is and we know he has scored a few centuries with the white and red ball as well.” Talking about Virat, Rohit also said that “The big reason behind India’s strong performance in the fourth Test match was Virat Kohli himself.”

Virat Kohli was the top scorer for the Indian team while chasing Australia’s 480-run challenge. He fought till the end. Virat scored 186 runs off 364 balls in the fourth Test. While making these runs, he also hit 15 fours. Interestingly, he was also honored with the man of the match award for this innings. This was his 10th man of the match award in his Test career.
