The International Cricket Council and the Board of Control for Cricket in India announced the schedule for the ODI World Cup 2023 on Tuesday (June 27). While the entire world was focused on the schedule, the one that was most awaited was the India vs Pakistan match. As per the schedule fixed by the ICC Board, the India-Pakistan match will be played on October 15 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the capital city of Gujarat. However, this is not acceptable to the Pakistan Cricket Board.

When the BCCI handed over the first draft of the schedule to the ICC and other boards, Pakistan refused to play in Ahmedabad citing security reasons. The Pakistan Cricket Board had also said that they would have to seek permission from their government before coming to India for the World Cup.

However, according to a recent report, if the Pakistan government does not allow its team to play in Ahmedabad, then Chennai can be used as an alternative. A Pakistani journalist tweeted, quoting a reporter. “If the Pakistan government does not allow its team to play against India in Ahmedabad, then Chennai can be used as an alternative,” he wrote in a tweet.

BCCI on Tuesday announced the One Day World Cup 2023 (ODI World Cup 2023). This time 10 teams are participating in the World Cup. Each team will play 9 matches. A total of 45 matches will be played in the league round. This will be followed by 2 semi-final matches and the final. The first match of the tournament will be played on October 5. This match will be played between England and New Zealand. Also, the final match will be played on November 19.
