According to the new rankings, India and Australia have the same 113 points, while Australia is ahead by a difference of 10 points. After that, New Zealand is in the third place and England is in the fourth place. On the same tour, Australia also retained their top spot in the Test rankings, after losing two Tests with one win and one draw.
The Chennai ODI gained importance as the Indian team won the first match at Mumbai and the second match at Visakhapatnam was won by the Australian team. Australia team scored 269 runs on the strength of useful contribution from all the batsmen. Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya fought for the Indian team while chasing these runs. However, Australia’s spinners lifted the game at crucial moments to give Australia a historic series win.
