England danced to the rhythm of Renuka’s swing! In just 15 runs, 5 people were shown the way to the tent
The ongoing Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa started on Saturday (February 18) with India vs England. Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and decided to bowl first. Renuka Singh Thakur, the leading fast bowler of the Indian team, bowled brilliantly and took five wickets. Along with this, she also created a record for herself.
Renuka could not bowl very well in the first two matches. However, she made up for that failure in this match. She guided Danny Watt to the tent in the very first over. She then put the England team in trouble by dismissing Sophie Dunkley and Elise Capsey. After coming in to bowl the last over of the innings, she completed her five-wicket haul by dismissing Amy Jones and Catherine Siver Brunt. She conceded 15 runs in her spell of four overs.

This was the second best performance by the Indian women’s team in T20 cricket. Earlier, Jhulan Goswami dismissed five batsmen for just 11 runs against Australia. Also, this was the best tally by a bowler from any country in a T20 World Cup against England.
When it comes to England’s left-wing, Nate Seaver shouldered the responsibility after three key batsmen were dismissed early. She scored an aggressive half-century. Whereas, captain Heather Knight contributed 28 runs and Amy Jones contributed 40 runs. The team that wins this match will directly secure their place in the semi-finals.
