England’s dangerous fast bowler’s entry into Mumbai’s squad, got a chance as a substitute player

A deadly bowler has been added in the second half of IPL 2023 for Mumbai Indians. According to media reports, England fast bowler Chris Jordan has been added to Mumbai’s squad. It is also said that Jordan has been given a chance as a replacement player in Mumbai Indians. However, it is not yet clear which player Jordan has joined the team in place of.

According to ESPN Cricinfo, Mumbai Indians have included Chris Jordan in the team as a replacement player. But which player he has replaced in the team is yet to be revealed. Most of the players in Mumbai’s squad looked fit till the last match. Only one player in the squad is suffering from injury, Jofra Archer. Archer has recently been flown to Belgium for surgery. In this case, Chris Jordan can play in place of Archer in the current IPL season.

On Sunday (April 30), Mumbai Indians are scheduled to play against Rajasthan Royals at the Wankhede Stadium. Before this match, Mumbai’s head coach Mark Boucher informed about Archer’s injury and informed that he has left for Belgium. “Yes he is injured. I believe the surgery he will undergo will not be too big. We all know what Jofra Archer can do on the field. He has been an excellent bowler for the past several years. So he has a unique place in Mumbai’s bowling attack as well.”

There is no clarity about which player Adyaf Jordan will replace from Mumbai Indians. Instead of Jofra Archer, Mumbai’s squad currently includes overseas players like Deward Brewis, Tristan Stubbs, Tim David, Cameron Greene, Duane Jensen, Riley Merideth, Jason Herrendorf. However, no one has been injured so far. There is every possibility that Chris Jordan will be seen representing Mumbai in place of Jofra Archer in the coming matches.

Jordan played his last IPL match for Chennai Super Kings last season. In this match played on 17 April 2022, he spent 58 runs and did not take a single wicket. CSK had to accept defeat by 3 wickets against Gujarat Titans in this match. Jordan recently played a three-match T20I series against Bangladesh.
