After the final match of the World Test Championship, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the new individual rankings of the players. Batting Ranking Australia’s batsmen dominated the top three positions. The bowlers of India, England and Australia appear in the bowling rankings. However, at the same time, the Indian team’s experienced spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and India’s young wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant, who is currently injured, seems to have saved the shame of the Indian team in this ranking.
Newly crowned Test champions, Australia’s three batsmen occupy the top three positions. Marnus Labuchen has retained his number one spot, while Steve Smith and Travis Head, who scored centuries in the final against India, are seen at number two and number three respectively. India’s only batsman in the top ten is Rishabh Pant, who is sitting at number ten. Interestingly, Pant played his last match last year. After that, captain Rohit Sharma is seen at the twelfth position and Virat Kohli at the thirteenth position.
Ravichandran Ashwin also managed to retain his top spot in the bowling rankings. Interestingly, he did not get a chance in the Indian team in the final match of the World Test Championship. Ravindra Jadeja, another experienced spinner of the Indian team, is ranked eighth, while Jasprit Bumrah, who has been out of the Indian team for the past several days, is at the ninth position. England’s James Anderson, Stuart Broad and Ollie Robinson are three fast bowlers in this list. Australia’s Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon are among the top ten bowlers.
