Excitement in CSK! IPL 2022 champion bowler injured, may be out for entire season

Just 6 days are left for the start of the next season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the world’s biggest professional T20 league. All teams have started preparations for this new season. Meanwhile, the Chennai Super Kings team, which has won the IPL trophy four times, has suffered a big blow. Young fast bowler Mukesh Chaudhary, who made his debut for the team last season, is injured and is unlikely to feature this season.

Mukesh Chaudhary grabbed everyone’s attention last year by bowling dangerously. Mukesh, who plays domestic cricket for Maharashtra, has taken 14 wickets in 13 matches with his left-arm fast bowling. In the absence of Deepak Chahar, he has emerged as the leading bowler of the team. However, the chances of him playing in the IPL this year have decreased.

Mukesh is currently undergoing a rehabilitation program at the National Cricket Academy due to back pain. Even with the IPL around the corner, he has not entered the camp in Chennai. Speaking on the matter, Chennai CEO Kasi Vishwanath said,

“We are waiting for Mukesh. However, to be honest, we don’t have high expectations. He was the pillar of our bowling last year. If he is not available this time, we will miss him.”

Mukesh, who has been playing domestic cricket for the past seven years, was roped in by Chennai last year for a base price of Rs 20 lakh. He impressed everyone as he led Chennai’s bowling in place of the injured Deepak Chahar. After that he also got an opportunity to play for India A team. However, he was unable to take the field since the injury sustained in the Ranji Trophy tournament.
