‘Faf and Kohli made our…’, says Sunrisers captain Markram after the heavy defeat at the fort

Sunrisers Hyderabad faced a heavy defeat in their stronghold i.e. Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Hyderabad by 8 wickets in this match. After the defeat in the 65th match of IPL 2023, Hyderabad captain Aiden Markram gave a big reaction. He said that despite batting well, he could not take full advantage of the opportunity.

What did Markram say?
After the match, Aiden Markram said, “I think we batted very well. However, could not take full advantage of the opportunity. Maybe something was missing in the powerplay.” Markrum was upset that he could not win the match for Klassen. “Couldn’t win the match for Heinrich, who batted brilliantly today,” he continued.

Additionally, the partnership of Virat Kohli and Faf Du Plessis took the match away from them. Commenting on this, Markram said, “Faf and Kohli killed our hopes in the match.”

Markrum praised the fans who arrived at the stadium for the final home game of the season. He said, “Not only for us, but also for RCB, there was good support. The only regret is that we could not give them victory. But thanks to them.”

Briefly about the match
Hyderabad scored 186 runs for 104 runs with the help of Heinrich Klaasen’s 51-ball 6 sixes and 8 fours while batting first. Apart from him, Markram (18), Harry Brook (27 not out) also contributed well. While bowling for RCB, Michael Bracewell took 2 wickets, while Mohammad Siraj, Shahbaz Ahmed and Harshal Patel took 1 wicket each.

Chasing this challenge, Virat Kohli scored 100 runs in 63 balls with the help of 4 sixes and 12 fours. Also, Faf du Plessis also scored 71 runs off 47 balls with the help of 2 sixes and 7 fours. They shared a partnership of 172 runs for the first wicket. Hence, RCB won the match by 8 wickets with 4 balls to spare and 187 runs to spare.
