Finally put the earth out! Due to continuous failure, Delhi had to take a tough decision
In IPL 2023, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals faced each other on Monday (April 24). Delhi captain David Warner won the toss and elected to bat first in this match held at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad. Delhi made two important changes in this match. Opener Prithvi Shaw, who has failed so far, has finally been ruled out for this match.
Prithvi Shaw was in tremendous form during the domestic season this year. So everyone expected him to repeat the same performance in this IPL. However, he could not live up to these expectations. Hence, he did not get a place in both the playing eleven and impact substitute against Hyderabad.
Shaw has been in very poor form this year. His highest score of 15 in six matches came against Mumbai Indians. He scored 12, 7, 0, 15, 0 and 13 runs in six innings this season. He was also unable to open the account twice. Hence Ripal Patel was included in his place against Hyderabad.
As Prithvi was in poor form, Delhi Capitals had called up Bengal’s veteran opener Abhimanyu Iswaran and Uttar Pradesh captain Priyam Garg for a trial a few days ago. Garg has been included in the squad as Kamlesh Nagarkoti is injured.
